Film Flavor: Breaking Dawn Part 1 has arrived

The Twilight Saga’s cast of hot vampires and werewolves are back with Breaking Dawn Part 1. The group converged at the Los Angeles premiere of the movie, all dressed up in their red carpet best. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner headed up the huge cast at the event like always. They were joined by Ashley Greene, Peter Facinelli, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, Nikki Reed, and Elizabeth Reaser. Billy Burke, Alex Meraz, Justin Chon, Booboo Stewart, Chaske Spencer, Gil Birmingham, Julia Jones, Tinsel Korey, Michael Welch, Christian Serratos, and Kiowa Gordon were also there, as well as the author of the Twilight saga, Stephenie Meyer. Breaking Dawn Part 1 will open in theaters this weekend, and Twilight mania will be in full swing once again. Can’t wait to see the beautiful cast? Film Flavor: A Look Inside the 2011 Venice Film Festival

The Venice Film Festival has always been a gathering of the world’s most talented names in cinema. It’s the Woodstock of film, where artists, producers, filmmakers, actors, studio executives, and directors alike all come together once a year in a massive celluloid celebration. The oldest film festival in the world,it aims to raise the level of consciousness about international cinema – from its past to its future, and the figures who keep it going.

At this year’s 68th Venice International Film Festival, 22 films are vying for the Golden Lion award, with a bevy of films also showing outside of the competition lineup. The 11-day event started on August 31 and will culminate on September 10. A diverse selection of films and attendees makes this year’s festival particularly interesting. A host of A-list stars, stellar filmmakers, and even the Queen of Pop made it to the City of Canals with intriguing films in tow.

George Clooney opened the festival with his The Ides of March – a political story laced with scandal and revenge. Ryan Gosling heads the star-studded acting team, which includes Evan Rachel Wood, Marisa Tomei, Paul Giamatti, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Jeffrey Wright. Madonna is showcasing her film, W.E., starring Abbie Cornish and James Fox, which portrays the well-known relationship of American divorcee Wallis Simpson and Britain’s King Edward VIII, who abdicated the throne in 1936. French-Polish film director Roman Polanski brought Carnage – one of the festival’s most anticipated films – featuring Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster, Cristoph Waltz, and John C Reilly. Other star-studded ensembles this year include Shame by British artist and filmmaker Steve McQueen, featuring Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan, and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy by Swedish director Tomas Alfredson, starring Colin Firth, John Hurt, and Mark Strong.

Prominent celebrities trooped to Venice to show their support. Actor, author, and business mogul Eric Schiffer attended the screenings of Madonna’s W.E., the Japanese film Cut, and the U.S. to France story, Photographic Memory. Film producer and director Eli Roth made an appearance at the Contagion, Carnage and The Ides of March events. Al Pacino was also there to receive the Glory to the Filmmaker Award for his film, Wild Salome, which premiered at the festival.

Clearly this year’s Venice Film Festival has been one for the ages. It will undoubtedly be a hard one to top next year.

Film Flavor: The Glee kids turn it up at the Glee 3D Premiere

Glee has jumped from television right into film, and they just had to do it in 3D. The entire cast showed up at the Los Angeles premiere of Glee: The 3D Concert Movie. Matthew Morrison and Gwyneth Paltrow were not in attendance, but those who attended were in fine red carpet form.

Dianna Agron stood out in a perfectly pretty ensemble with just a tiny hint of attitude, in a Christian Cota tulip wrap dress and strappy, gold, Camilla Skovgaard shoes. Naya Rivera was quite the attention-grabber in a purple Rue du Mail dress, even if her outfit was too heavy for summer. Lea Michele’s ensemble consisted of a Marchesa dress with Casadei shoes, which was a little busy, but she pulled it off anyway. Jenna Ushkowitz was a headturner in a bronze Ramy Brook wrap dress and Casadei heels. They were also joined by the other women in the cast – Amber Riley, Ashley Fink, Heather Morris, and Jayma Mays.

The guys held their own at the event too. Chord Overstreet, Chris Colfer, Cory Monteith, Darren Criss, Harry Shum Jr., Kevin McHale, and Mark Salling were all truly dapper in suits and ties. They all obviously came ready for the cameras.

Glee: The 3D Concert Movie is actually a documentary that followed the Glee kids throughout their Glee Live! In Concert! Summer 2011 tour. It will be out in theaters on August 12.

Film Flavor: The Change-Up Cast hits the red carpet

The Change-Up is yet another one of those identity-switch flicks, but it’s got a really bright cast. Ryan Reynolds, Jason Bateman, Olivia Munn, and Leslie Mann all looked good when they hit the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of the movie in Westwood. Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman play ex-best friends with different lives who meet up again and get switched up. Jason plays Dave, a successful lawyer with kids and a wife named Jamie (played by Leslie Mann). Ryan plays Mitch, a single, unsuccessful guy free of responsibilities. They switch lives one night, and chaos ensues. (Olivia Munn plays Dave’s legal associate by the way, who the new Dave meets eventually.) All solid – and gorgeous – actors, this cast appears to have substantial chemistry. Wondering if they all gelled in the film? The Change-Up comes out in theaters on August 5.

Film Flavor: Get a load of the Crazy, Stupid, Love cast

Crazy, Stupid, Love‘s colorful cast all turned up for the movie premiere yesterday in New York City. Funnyman Steve Carell headed the group as Cal, a guy undergoing a marital crisis, forced to get back into the single life. The beautiful Julianne Moore was blooming at the premiere – she plays Emily, Cal’s wife. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, who play the couple Jacob (Cal’s wingman) and Hannah (a girl he meets) in the movie, were also both equally gorgeous on the red carpet. Former America’s Next Top Model third placer Analeigh Tipton and Marisa Tomei were also there as part of the cast. Analeigh plays Jessica, a babysitter interested in Cal, and Marisa plays Kate, another potential love interest for Cal. They all lit up the red carpet with their colorful mix of personalities! Will they light up the movie too? We’ll find out when it hits the theaters on July 29.

Film Flavor: The Stars Shine at the Final Harry Potter Premiere in NYC

The New York premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 was as magical as the London premiere. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Matthew Lewis, Alan Rickman, and the rest of the cast all looked their very best as they strutted down the red carpet for the last time. What started out as a children-dominated cast is all grown-up, looking good, and with their own projects outside of the Harry Potter franchise. Their last hurrah is set to be their biggest triumph yet. As of the moment, the last movie has already earned $25 million from advance sales alone. Deathly Hallows will definitely break box office records this weekend.

Film Flavor: Are you ready for the Harry Potter finale?

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 will premiere all over the world on July 15, 2011. The question is, are you ready for it? The entire cast sure is – they brought so much pomp and sparkle to the movie’s world premiere in London! Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson walked the red carpet with the rest of the cast. James and Oliver Phelps, Evanna Lynch, Clemence Posey, Tom Felton, and Matthew Lewis were all there. They joined Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Gambon, David Thewlis, Alan Rickman, Robbie Coltrane, Maggie Smith, Natalia Tena and more. The book’s author, JK Rowling, and the movie’s producer, David Heyman, were also there to celebrate the end of Harry Potter‘s magical era with everyone. Film Flavor: Beautiful People at the Green Lantern Premiere

You might be prepared for the dazzling visual effects that are expected to come out in the Green Lantern, but are you prepared for the attractive cast? The Green Lantern Los Angeles Premiere had a stellar red carpet filled with beautiful people. Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively led the cast, both looking incredibly hot and gorgeous. Ryan plays the Hal Jordan/Green Lantern and Blake is his love interest, Carol Ferris. Film Flavor: Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson amp it up in the UK

Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson have been setting red carpets on fire all over, promoting their movie, Water for Elephants. They were beautiful at their movie’s New York premiere, but they really upped the ante for their London premiere. They were both extremely – and surprisingly – hot at the event. Reese, who has this sweet apple pie image, is suddenly tapping into her seductive side, wearing a tight, bright blue Stella McCartney dress that hugged her curves and had a bustier, sweetheart neckline plus straps that dangled off her shoulders. Robert reminded everyone that he is Twilight’s brooding vampire Edward Cullen in a dark, navy and black Dries Van Noten suit. Reese and Robert seemed like an unlikely pair, but they’re proving that they have chemistry with their hot red carpet appearances.

Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson made the red carpet very pretty at the New York premiere of their movie, Water for Elephants. The co-stars made such an attractive pair, promoting their period piece. Reese was radiant in a sleeveless, white Jason Wu frock with a black lace design, while Robert looked as dapper as ever in a slim black suit.

The two may be a pair onscreen, but off of it, they have had pretty busy love lives as of late. Reese just got married to super agent Jim Toth, months after getting engaged in December 2010. Robert on the other hand, is still going strong with his Twilight partner, Kristen Stewart. They were actually caught doing some PDA after the premiere.
