Fashion Extra: The Most Stylish Ladies at the 19th Annual SAG AwardsPosted by Alex Lagman on January 28, 2013 under Fashion,Fashion Extra
Are you ready for another roundup of Hollywood’s most stylish celebrities? The 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards – better known as SAG Awards – was flooded with dazzling designer dresses that we can’t stop staring at. As such, we’ve put up a list comprised of ladies who wowed us the moment they stepped out of their shiny limousines and walked down the red carpet.
First on the roll is blonde beauty Amanda Seyfried, who arrived in a midnight-blue Zac Posen strapless gown that hugged her body perfectly. She accessorized the tiered gown with a Lorraine Schwartz long pendant necklace. We also loved how her hair stylist opted for cascading curls on her right shoulder, adding the right amount of drama to her entire look.
Best Supporting Actress winner Anne Hathaway looked every inch an A-lister in a Giambattista Valli tulle dress. There’s no word that can better describe her head-to-toe look than sophisticated. She also chose a flawless pair of Jimmy Choo sandals and Edie Parker clutch. Don’t forget her infamous cropped hair and the coral lip color she chose that complemented her all-black look.
Although she was one of our worst dressers at the 70th Golden Globe Awards, Ariel Winter proved that she can run away with a sartorial nod too. The Modern Family star made quite a fashionable splash on the red carpet in an Alex Perry gown that featured floral embroidery on the bodice. While she would’ve looked way better had she opted for a sleek bun, we’d like to commend Ariel for this princess-like look.
Helen Hunt was radiant in a platinum gown designed by Romona Keveza. She’s one of the actresses that you can spot from a distance because of the sparkling accents on her strapless dress. Another thing we dig about her ensemble is the diamond necklace and Neil Lane jewels she wore. Who would say no to diamonds?
Meanwhile, Jane Krakowski let her blonde hair be complemented by the coral Kaufmanfranco number she wore. Chic and sassy, the gown arrived in a plunging neckline that called attention to her cleavage. The matching Judith Leiber clutch and David Webb accessories completed the look.
One of the courageous — on the red carpet, that is — celebrities we always look forward to seeing is January Jones. She took our breaths away in a structured black-and-white Prabal Gurung gown. Despite its relatively mundane color, the actress pulled it off with her pompadour hairstyle and a bright lip color in tow.
The lovely Jennifer Garner chose a very sparkly Oscar de la Renta dress, which she teamed up with a Ferragamo clutch and David Webb ornaments. Even better was the way her wavy brunette locks cascaded like a dream to her shoulders.
Jennifer Lawrence made headlines when she walked up the stage to accept her Best Actress award. Others thought she ripped her dark blue Christian Dior gown, but the truth is, it’s all part of the dress. While the dress was presented in a shorter length on the runway, Jennifer reinvented it with a train that appeared as another portion of the ensemble. Chopard accessories made her look more regal, while her hair was sexily swept to one side.
Instead of looking like she was wearing the red carpet, Jessica Chastain’s Alexander McQueen gown actually thrust her to the style spotlight. The ravishing hue really stood out against her fair skin and auburn hair.
A beautiful gown from Rodarte was Kerry Washington’s choice for the event. We totally agree with her — or her stylist’s — decision to accessorize the number with Fred Leighton sparklers and a snake skin Judith Leiber clutch. Her smoky eyes also gave the dress a stronger statement.
Another red carpet regular fond of taking risks is Marion Cotillard. At the SAG Awards, we were truly delighted to see her in an exciting Christian Dior ensemble. The slightly high-low blue satin skirt looked the most fashion-forward on the red carpet, if you ask us. She was all smiles too, clearly loving her look that was completed with pink lipstick, a shiny bob, and Chopard accessories.
Naomi Watts got our attention and flashed plenty of elegance in a Marchesa gown covered with metallic embroidery and crystal embellishments. Just as stylish on the red carpet was Nicole Kidman, who wore a dazzling Vivienne Westwood Couture dress and a peppering of Fred Leighton jewels.
The Vampire Diaries leading lady Nina Dobrev showed off her tiny waist in a pink Elie Saab gown. She accessorized with a Judith Leiber clutch and stunning drop earrings. Wrapping up the list is Tina Fey, who bagged the Best Actress in a Comedy Series award in a gorgeous Oscar de la Renta gown. Like many of the stars in the list, she accessorized to perfection and trusted on jewels from Fred Leighton to tie her look together.
With these fashionable actresses nailing it on the red carpet, we can’t help but anticipate the upcoming Academy Awards to see if they will still make the cut. For now, let us hear what you have to say regarding these stylish ladies. Who do you think was the evening’s most fashionable?
