Fashion Extra: 2012 Teen Choice Awards

The 2012 Teen Choice Awards was a celebration of young Hollywood. Tinseltown’s youngest and brightest stars graced the star-studded pin carpet at Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City California last July 22. Like any awards show, some stood out above the rest. Here are our favorites from the affair.

Birthday girl Selena Gomez looked pretty in a pink Dsquared2 dress and a pair of Herve Leger heels. She finished the look with straight hair and minimal makeup. The young star had a surprise birthday gift when she received the Choice Music Group award.

Taylor Swift went classy in a white Maria Lucia Hohan dress, which she paired with peep toe Prada shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. The Love Story hitmaker raked a number of awards including the prestigious Choice Female Artist award.

New Girl star Zooey Deschanel chose to be graceful in a bright blue Monique Lhuillier dress and black Giuseppe Zanotti bow-decorated pumps. She didn’t snag any award but her Jimmy Choo clutch provided enough shine to her simple outfit.

Demi Lovato turned heads when she arrived looking fiercely hot in a patterned Falguni Shane Peacock dress that she matched with Christian Louboutin heels and Loree Rodkin jewels. She kept her hair in a topknot ponytail that highlighted her blonde locks.The event’s host was awarded Choice Twit later that night.

Glee’s drama queen Lea Michele wowed spectators when she showed up in a shiny Versace mini dress, pointy shoes and Stephen Webster charms. The 25-year-old actress won the Choice TV Actress: Comedy award.

Nina Dobrev looked as stunning as ever when she showed some skin on the pink carpet in a turquoise J. Mendel dress. The Vampire Diaries beauty walked in strappy Jimmy Choo sandals as she sported a tiny waterfall braid. Nina was awarded the Choice TV Actress: Fantasy/Sci-Fi award as her co-star and real-life beau Ian Somerhalder got the Choice TV Actor: Fantasy/Sci-Fi surfboard.

Victoria Justice wore a printed Gomez-Gracia hi-low dress, Schutz heels and Lauren Merkin clutch. She kept her hair simple as well as her jewelry and makeup.

Who said the Teen Choice Awards is for teens only? Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi showed up looking comfortable in each other’s arms when they were joined with the talk show host’s fans and regular guests Sophia Grace and Rosie. Ellen got the Choice Comedian award.

No Doubt made a rocking comeback by performing their latest single, Settle Down as if they hadn’t aged over time. Gwen Stefani, together with the boys – Tom Dumont, Adrian Young, and Tony Kanal walked down the pink aisle wearing sunglasses that made them stand out among the others.

Teen sensation Justin Bieber almost owned the night after winning majority of the categories including: Choice Male Artist, Choice Single by a Male Artist (Boyfriend), Choice Summer Music Star: Male, and Choice Fashion Icon: Male.
