Fashion Extra: Stella McCartney receives Honorary Degree
Posted by Madeleine York on July 19, 2012 under Fashion,Fashion ExtraFashion royalty rules in the sartorial world, and now in academics as well. Stella McCartney just received her honorary degree from the University of the Arts London at the Royal Festival Hall last July 18. The 40-year-old British designer was garbed in a black and purple robe which was topped off by a black cap with a purple tassel. She kept it fashionable as always by wearing a pair of monochrome heels to finish off her graduation outfit.

She revealed in her short speech that she will be offering an annual scholarship for students at Central St. Martins so they can pursue their dreams of working in the world of fashion. Stella graduated from the prestigious fashion school in 1995 before she became the creative director at Chloe and established her own fashion house.
It seems like 2012 will be her memorable year so far because she also had the privilege to design the outfits of the 900 Team GB athletes competing in the upcoming London 2012 Olympics. Sir Paul McCartney must be very proud of his daughter indeed. Tell us what you think by dropping us some comments.
