Beauty Extra: Rooney Mara gets rid of her Dragon Tattoo hair

Rooney Mara is back to normal-looking hair. The actress has been rocking a short, black cut for a long time, mainly because of her part in the movie, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. She actually gave the red carpet a bit of an edge this past awards season, switching between sleek hair with a side part, and blunt bangs. Now she’s got long, stringy, and wavy extensions that are brown on top and blonde on the bottom.

It’s a surprising change for Rooney, but fans of her edgy Dragon Tattoo looks shouldn’t worry. This haircut is actually for her new movie, The Bitter Pill. She has been spotted all over New York City with her new hair, no doubt getting used to it for her film role. She had it in big waves on set, but she hid it under a beanie when she was seen getting lunch off-set and while taking a stroll in SoHo with her boyfriend, Charlie McDowell.

Her edgy, androgynous style that had cameras snapping recently is still quite evident. In the pictures, she’s wearing black pants, manly boots, shades, and a white men’s shirt, balanced out by a feminine black coat. She was also seen rocking a slick, black Givenchy Nightingale bag. This lady might be immersed in a very different movie right now, but once she starts doing her red carpet rounds, she’ll surely be stealing the spotlight once again.
