Fashion Extra: Pale Dresses at the 2011 Emmy Awards

Some ladies chose to wear fiery red to the 2011 Emmy Awards, but some opted for delicate, pale dresses. Colors ranged from white and silver to nude, pink, and beige. Most of them worked it, but some didn’t.

Julianna Margulies really drew attention on the red carpet in a stark white Armani Prive column gown. It had a fitted bustier top studded with oval crystals. It was beautifully classic, which fitted her style perfectly.

Rachael Taylor was among those who made edgier choices at the Emmys, and edgy worked for her. She wore a pink and silver long gown from Giorgio Armani which had pretty sequined fringes all over and a sexy corset top.

Rashida Jones turned up in a pinkish beige Alberta Ferreti gown. The tulle material made it look floaty and the sweetheart neckline looked very feminine. With her dark makeup, it was a look that brought a moody autumn to mind.

Taraji P. Henson wore a sheer, almost see-through, white Blumarine dress. Sadly, it wasn’t flattering and unoriginal.

Christina Hendricks is becoming a one-note lady with her preference for dresses that flaunted her assets. For the Emmys, she chose a fully-embellished, silver Johanna Johnson dress that did the same. Sure, if you got it, flaunt it, but she just looks like she’s bursting at the seams, which is never a good thing.

Elisabeth Moss wore a nude Marchesa gown with gold embroidery. It was a subtle, but elegant look.

Heidi Klum was a modern princess in a Christian Siriano dress. It had a massive skirt that billowed out in floral folds, which contrasted with the tight, strapless, draped top. It was a fun piece and she was lovely in it.

Jane Krakowski wore a white lame gown from J. Mendel. It looked too tight however, and it would have looked better if she wasn’t so tanned.
