Product Pick-Me-Up: Androgynous Hair Cream from Lush
Posted by Jullienne Batoon on August 18, 2011 under Beauty,Product Pick-Me-UpRecently, we reviewed the Lush Dirty Body Spray. Now we’re moving down the line to another product – the Dirty Hair Styling Cream. Lush sent us a sample, and here’s our review.
Like the all the Dirty products, the Hair Styling Cream was designed to be unisex. All the products smell different, because the scents are designed to work together. Unlike the Body Spray, which was very masculine, the Hair Styling Cream has a truly androgynous fragrance. We found that ladies found the scent a little masculine, while men found the scent to be a little feminine. The combination of oak moss and sandalwood in it made it smell a bit flowery, but it still had the Dirty line’s general undertones of spearmint and tarragon.
The cream was a cinch to apply. Although it feels a little thick, it actually goes on smooth and doesn’t clump while being worked through hair. Just a small amount will get you far too, so be careful not to overdo it. Once it’s on hair, it keeps a firm hold, but doesn’t make hair stiff. If you want to keep your hairstyle from going astray, and yet you still want your hair to move and look natural, this will work for you.
Both the scent and the formula last all day. Still, it won’t give you grief in the shower as it washes off easily. It’s low maintenance all the way. Finally, here’s a beauty product you can share with your man.
