Soda Shop: Downtown Luxury

There’s a certain thrill when you get all dressed up in red lipstick and stilettos, but there are days when you just want to lay back and chill out. For chic, dolled-up days, Chanel is usually one of the brands you can count on, but now, it wants you to call on it when you’re feeling the down-to-earth, bohemian vibe too.

The brand has rolled out the Chanel SoHo Story collection, named after the New York City neighborhood known for its downtown, artistic feel. It’s an earthy set of makeup, composed of pinks, nudes and grays. There’s a highlighter and blush compact, Quadra eyeshadow, nail polishes in dark purple Strong and blue gray Steel, Rouge Coco lipstick in pinkish tan Stunning, Rouge Allure Laque lip color in old rose Stunt, and Glossimer in a very light pink called Star. Despite the earthiness of the colors, everything’s still got the luxurious, sophisticated trademark Chanel glimmer. It’s true downtown luxury.
