Product Pick-Me-Up: Garnier’s beat-the-heat hair products

Summer’s tough on hair. Beach and pool water, plus the harsh rays of the sun can easily zap all the moisture out of your locks. When your hair’s all dried out from the sun, or beat up by chlorine and ocean salt, it’s time to give it some TLC. Garnier sent us their Triple Nutrition line of hair products, which is just what we need for summer.

We got to try three products from the Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition line – the Fortifying Shampoo, Fortifying Cream Conditioner, and the 3-minute Undo Dryness Reversal Treatment. These products were designed to work together to moisturize very dry and damaged hair. Most products that do this often weigh hair down, but these use olive, avocado and shea oils, which are really light. The olive oil takes care of the hair’s inner core; avocado oil softens the middle layer; and the shea oil conditions the surface.

The Fortifying Shampoo was the clear kind. It had a very clean feel to it, and it felt very gentle on the hair. The Fortifying Cream Conditioner, was, as its name implies, creamy, as conditioners are wont to be. The 3-minute Undo Dryness Reversal Treatment was just as creamy as well, though it had a beady texture which told us that it was a lot richer because of its deep conditioning aspects. We must say, these products did their job. Hair was a lot shinier and didn’t feel as dry after a few uses. The shampoo alone didn’t give soften hair much or make it really shiny though it did take away the roughness of dry hair and made it feel a lot smoother. With the conditioner however, it was a different story. Hair was softer, smoother and shinier, and it didn’t feel dry or heavy either. The deep conditioner worked instantly and had a lasting effect. Hair with the shampoo plus reversal treatment was even better than the hair plus conditioner combo. If you want some fierce hair this summer that’ll withstand the heat, this is the way to go.
