Product Pick-Me-Up: NYX’s bohemian blush

This is the time of year when everything heats up – literally and figuratively. The weather, the parties, and the skimpy outfits are simply hot, hot, hot during the summer. Of course, you should be looking hot too, which means your makeup should be hot as well. *Message in a SodaBottle: Go for anything that makes you sun-kissed and glowing; drop heavy colors that will only weigh your look down.

NYX’s Rouge Cream Blush in Boho Chic ($6.50) is one makeup item that has summer written all over it. It’s a light pink blush with a hint of shimmer that gives off a subtle glowing effect. NYX actually sent us a pan so we got to try it out, and we were pretty pleased with the results.

We’re not really fans of cream blush because it’s usually not as easy to apply as powder blush. This is why we were pleasantly surprised to find the NYX Rouge Cream Blush to be very user-friendly. It blended into our skin without difficulty, probably because the texture was so creamy. A dab of it was already enough for both cheeks since it spread really easily. It dried pretty quickly, and it felt like powder on our cheeks when it did – it didn’t feel sticky or oily at all. We also found that we didn’t need to apply too much of it, because the color’s highly pigmented, and one layer was enough. We didn’t have to do a lot of touch-ups throughout the day either – the color stayed on for hours. Our verdict: This is one hot blush.
