Product Pick-Me-Up: Intense Maybelline lipsticks

Do you need a break from your normal, everyday self? Looking the same day in and day out can get old, and you need to keep yourself looking fresh and updated. Getting a new lipstick is the easiest way to change things up a bit. Your lip color dictates how the rest of your face will turn out, so if you want an instant transformation, all you have to do is use a different lip color. Feeling moody? Put on a dark brown or purple shade. Feeling flirty? Go with pink. Feeling bouncy? Try orange. Feeling sexy? Use red, of course.

We got to sample a couple, and we tell you, these lipsticks ($7.49 a tube) will take your look from boring to interesting in a jiffy. Like the Color Sensational lip glosses, these have brilliant, rich color. They’re heavily pigmented with intense shades, and they stay on your lips for quite a while, unlike the lip glosses that disappear from your lips pretty quickly. These lipsticks also have a creamy texture from honey nectar that feels great on the lips. We thought they would feel heavy because of the heavy color, but they turned out alright.

The two shades we got were Pink Please, a light but very pink shade, and Nearly There, a frosted, beige-pink hue. Nearly There is a neutral shade, but it looks icy and full of shimmer. It exudes subtle attitude. Pink Please is a bright – but not loud – pink. It’s a flirty color with a retro vibe, and it’s now one of our favorite lipstick colors of all time. We adore these lipsticks – we didn’t find anything wrong with them! Maybelline hit a home run with this line. The Color Sensational lipsticks have our official stamp of approval.
