Soda Pop: DJ AM is dead

DJ AM, real name Adam Goldstein, was discovered in his New York apartment in the afternoon of August 28. His rep confirmed, “Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein was found deceased this afternoon in his New York City apartment. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Out of respect for family and loved ones, please respect their privacy at this time.” The police have stated that there was no sign of foul play, though another police source claims that the 36-year-old musician was found lying face down on the bed without a shirt on. It has been reported that prescription medications were found in his apartment, and that he has had drug addictions in the past. It is said that the star was upset about having broken up with his girlfriend, model Hayley Wood. A source said, “She ended it and he didn’t want it to end. The breakup hurt him. He hadn’t been in a good place lately. For the past week, he wasn’t really around, he was keeping to himself, and he was blowing people off.” His last Twitter post on August 27 states, “New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york ain’t always what it seems (sic).”
