Soda Book: Anna Sui for Target

Anna Sui’s Target line looks like it came straight out of the designer’s runway. Sui is the second designer to collaborate with Target for its Designer Collaborations series, which lets well-established designers choose from a muse, a creative element or a collaborative partner for inspiration. Sui chose the four female lead characters in the TV show “Gossip Girl” – Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, Jenny Humphrey and Vanessa Abrams. For Ann Sui for Target, the designer has taken her trademark vintage glamour and mixed it with a touch of New York City spirit to come up with eclectic but very feminine pieces. The diverse collection puts together houndstooth and herringbone patterns with chiffon, tulle and satin. There are lace and bows too, mixed in with ethnic prints, plaids and paisleys. Somehow though, everything comes together perfectly. Our favorites are a sheer, lacey black top that’s very Blair Waldorf and very Anna Sui at the same time, and a velvet dress with a spiral-floral print that will look great with this season’s tall boots. The collection will drop in Target stores on September 13, just in time for the third season premiere of “Gossip Girl” on the CW on September 14. It will only be around until October 17, so go and get your Gossip Girl on as soon as it all comes out – you know you love it, XOXO!
