Chris Brown has been given six months of community labor for assaulting Rihanna. The singer was formally sentenced in Los Angeles after hitting, punching and chocking Rihanna in his rented Lamborghini last February. The courts have mandated him to clean graffiti and wash cars for 1,400 hours in Virginia. Chris pleaded guilty to felony assault in agreement with a plea bargain for no jail time. He has also been sentenced to five years probation and is required to go to domestic violence classes for one year. He also has to pay fines of up to $5000, as well as appear in court every three months, beginning November 19. Additionally, Judge Patricia Schnegg also banned Chris from getting in touch with Rihanna for five years and stay at least 100 yards away from her. At an entertainment event, he must keep clear by 10 yards. Rihanna’s lawyer Donald Etra previously claimed that it wasn’t needed, but the judge said the decision was up to the court and not Rihanna. Court documents show that Chris wanted counseling before his probation but was stopped. He has stated that he had witnessed violence as a child and wanted to ensure he didn’t “carry on that cycle”, and that he has apologized to Rihanna several times.
